Before you leap forward, you need to say goodbye to those habits that are holding you back. You can start to think of a new chapter, new month, new year, when you are still stuck in your old habits. I think is time for you to swap your negative habits to a positive one.
Below are the few things you need to let go so that you can begin a fresh chapter;
1. Stop saying you are not ready:
A lot of people do tell me that they are not ready when they asked to do somethings and I will be like, “What the hell, who is ready?”
Nobody is 100% ready for the opportunities that comes his/her way. So stop saying you are not ready and be ready for anything that comes your way.
2. Stop dwelling on the past and worrying about the future:
If you want to be successful, you can start worrying about the past as well as what the future holds for you, you cannot start thinking about how the past will affect your future, to be successful you need to let go of the past.
3. Stop breaking promises:
As for me, I dislike those that fall into this category because it create an atmosphere of mistrust. If you are saying you are going to do something do it, if you can’t, stop making promises that you will do it, if not you are going to lose credibility.
4. Stop Trying to live up to people’s expectations:
Set high standards for yourself and do whatever you can to meet those standards, ignore whatever negative comments people have on you, and by the way you can also turn those negativity to positivity.
5. Stop judging other people:
You should focus on your goals and achievements instead of throwing negative comments to people.
6. Stop comparing yourself with other people:
I guess this is not the first time you will be hearing stuff like this, well am glad am telling you again that you need to stop comparing yourself to other people, let me frank with you comparing yourself with others is just a waste of time. The only person you should be competing against is yourself and yourself alone.
7. Stop complaining constantly:
If something isn’t working, do something about it or better still you can try something new.
8. Stop procrastinating:
Stop waiting and start doing, stop saying I will do it another time, you need to get up your feet and do it ASAP if you really want to accomplish something.
9. Stop trying to be perfect:
No one can be perfect, those who insist that they want to be perfect don’t get much done.
10. Stop holding grudges:
I consider holding grudges as a waste of time and a hindrance to someone’s happiness. The sooner you forgive, the sooner you feel better, the sooner you can move on.
11. Stop trying to avoid mistakes:
I have said it earlier that no one can be perfect, this life is about making mistakes, taking chances, allowing risk. The only mistake that can truly hurt you is choosing to avoid living your life.
12. Saying “I can’t.”
Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you will always be right, try and do it, continue doing it until you get it right.
13. Stop trying to do everything by yourself:
You tend to achieve a lot when you don’t do things alone. The better you understand that things are easier and more fun when you don’t do it alone, the faster you will realize you don’t have to do everything alone.
14. Stop blaming others for your troubles:
When you blame others is a way of denying your own accountability for your life. Take responsibility for who you are and your actions
15. You need to stop doubting yourself:
Be passionate, do you know that determined people do remarkable things. Never allow your self-doubt to get in the way of what you want to accomplish.
You must be willing to let go of the old life you have inorder to let in the new life that is waiting for you.
