My Boo’s Boo

The great pyramid of Giza is really a wonder in Egypt and same also are all the other wonders of the world to their country. Hanging gardens of Babylon, Temple of Artemis, Statue of Zeus at Olympia, Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, Colossus of Rhodes and the light house of Alexandria.

Of all the wonders of the world, only one was excluded; ATINUKE! The eighth wonder of the world and just as the great pyramid is to Egypt, she is to me.

She is as beautiful as Lucifer. Decent, cultured and I was about nurturing the feeling that Angel Raphael was her primordium.  At the sight of her appearance, every wrong with my system vanishes and happiness around me gather. I really have not figured out why I had such fulfilment each time I sighted her.

Her hair is as black as raven; shinny as it reflects the glory of her hair cream. Her eye brow is perfectly shaped and not bald like that of every regular girl. The gaze of her eyes is bright enough to give sight to the blind and I feel unworthy to look into her eyes. Her smile is the most amazing part of her. It clearly reflects her two important jewels; dimples and gap between her two incisors. Now anyone following would understand why indeed she is a wonder of the world.

As if beauty wasn’t enough. I was told she is scathy and  a lady of impeccable character. Even though she is my boo, I can’t wait to know more about her.

“…Do you still do boyfriends? Your mates are doing fiancés already…” I heard the voice of Fayenuwo as she talked to her friend. Annoying thing! “I am finding bae, this wan is talking fiancée” I thought to myself as I stared at them and shook my head at the enthusiasm with which they discussed. “It’s not her fault, it’s because she has a fiancé” I concluded and I made my mind up that Atinuke was going to be mine. I walked out of the lecture theatre and walked down to the university cinema to see the next movie.

“…No! don’t ask her out on WhatsApp, face her and let her know how you feel” Clement insisted. Despite the fact that we just met at the cinema, (my cinema habit is to make new friends) he talked to me like a brother and advised me since I told him about a certain damsel I was in love with. He seemed to be an expert in relationship matters.

All of a sudden, Atinuke stepped into the cinema. I could see her clearly despite the intensity of darkness and her skin illuminated the cinema but it was as if I was the only one noticing. Every other viewer’s attention was focused at something else. Even Clement didn’t notice that my attention had been divided. I kept gazing as she walked up towards our seat. “Perhaps I will talk to her for the first time today” I told myself as I kept staring at the rhythm with which her waist moved in her short skirt. The movement is as uniform as the match past of US army.

She pecked Clement on his lips and I gazed in awful surprise. “Tobiee meet Atinuke, my lovely girlfriend” Clement said as he smiled at me “is your damsel as beautiful as she is?” Clement asked as his smile obviously reflected how fond of Atinike he was. For the first time I shook her hand even though I was in emotional pains. I was so lucky I hadn’t told him her name earlier.

Oh! My God! My baby is gone…Atinuke can neither be my Sade nor Orente… My boo has a boo.
