Difference Between Coca-Cola And Lucozade


Wait! After a stressful day, sometimes we tend to grab a bottle of energy drink, some do go for Coca-Cola while some do go for The Lucozade. I do ask what is the difference between Coca-Cola and Locozade, well, I will tell you the difference between the two.

I have a friend that do claim to hate Coca-Cola because of the amount of sugar in it and yet the rate at which people is consuming it is alarming. Lucozade is sold as an energy drink but the popular product is actually hiding an unhealthy secret.

We all think, I inclusive that Coca-Cola has a high amount of sugar that Lucozade, well am here to tell you that is a big FAT lie. Ad companies do say: “if we want to run longer or be fitter we need to be drinking Lucozade.” Well, pretty cool right, but let me show you what is in a bottle of Lucozade.

According to Public health Liverpool, a 500ml bottle of Lucozade contains 15.5 cubes of sugar. That is roughly 62g and the recommended intake for a normal weight adult is 25g that is according to World Health Organization.

But if you prefer Coca-Cola, you will be consuming 13.5 cubes of sugar per 500ml, which is roughly 54g. Even Ribena contains 7.25 cubes of sugar per 288ml, Capri-Sun contains 8.25 cubes of sugar per 330ml, Tropicana orange juice contains 7.5 cubes of sugar per 330ml. It has been revealed that one 500ml bottle of Lucozade orange is worse than Coca-Cola, Capri-Sun, Tropicana orange juice, Ribena.

The Public Health Liverpool has launched a campaign to fight what is called tooth decay and don’t forget that cancer (an abnormal cell growth) loves a sugary medium.

Meanwhile Lucozade explained that it takes the issue of consumer health very seriously. “we are also committed to marketing our heritage brands responsibly, and as part of a voluntary soft drinks industry pledge we do not advertise or market any drink categorized as HFSS (high fat, sugar, salt) to under 16s,” said Lucozade Ribena Suntory spokesperson. But still, it is hard to do away with this Energy drinks.
